Asphalt Drum Mix Plant

KDI stationary drum mix asphalt plants are built with superior fuel efficiency and trouble-free operation in mind. Our goal is to provide our clients with the greatest and most consistent product upgrades; our asphalt mixing plants today exhibit outstanding and unparalleled product refinement.

ASPHALT DRUM MIX PLANT STANDARD CONFIGURATION

Dryer and Mixing Unit- The drying and mixing unit of an asphalt drum mix factory necessitates sophisticated flight design and heat transfer technologies. KDI Drum Mix Unit is well ahead of the competition due to our commitment to creating the greatest asphalt facilities, continual R&D, and implementation of cutting-edge design modifications. Heat is transmitted to the aggregates by conductive, connective, and radiative means. The field-proven unique flight design ensures total heat transfer, thorough mixing and coating, decreased emissions, and prevents bitumen oxidation.

Cold Aggregate Storage Unit- Asphalt mixing plant bins are all-welded and modular in design, allowing for easy expansion to suit rising needs. Steep bin walls and valley angels allow aggregates to flow freely from the feeders, reducing material hold-up in corners and bridging with sticky aggregates. The bins come with adjustable calibrated gate openings and variable speed feeder drives, which combined provide entire proportional control, increased flexibility, and precision of operations to drum mix facilities.
Bitumen Tank- Customers can choose between direct heating and hot oil heated bitumen storage tanks when purchasing drum mix units from KDI. Storage capacities vary from 10 to 50 tons. The indirect heating tanks come equipped with a Japanese-designed thermic oil heater. The direct heating tanks are equipped with an automatic imported pressure jet burner. All KDI tanks in asphalt mixing plants come complete with auto thermostatic controls, hot oil circulating systems, and a jacketed bitumen pump. The tanks are properly insulated to reduce heat loss and are provided.
Burner- The asphalt mixing plant’s high pressure atomized, fully automatic, remotely controlled burner unit has already established an excellent reputation for fuel efficiency, ease of operation, and uptime. Completely automatic process controls with system interlocks assure compliance with strict safety standards. This burner is designed to run on LDO/Diesel/FO fuel and includes a remote control system to detect flame failure as well as an electric spark ignition mechanism. Our unique nozzle system enables for cleaning while the drum mix plant is running, resulting in zero downtime.
LDO/Fuel Storage Tank- Fuel tank capacity ranges from 300 to 10000 liters.
Vibrating Screen for Oversize Removal- Oversize aggregate removal vibratory screens are included with all KDI Make asphalt units. It is located at the end of a cold aggregate feeder. Any large material that is damaging to the heating and mixing thermo drum internals is screened out, resulting in improved plant performance and safety.
